Vol. VI // Days 43-50
Still Life's & Self Portraits during a Worldwide Pandemic

This past week in New York felt especially heavy. Maybe it was the rain. Maybe it was the crossing over into 40, and then 50 days of staying at home. Or maybe it was the realization that we all began to have that as we get closer to an end date of our lock down that that doesn't mean everything is going to be the same again. In fact, nothing will be the same again, especially in New York where the density of the city will force us to be wearing masks longer than anywhere else in the country, and really, many parts of the world. A lot of the photos I took this week ended up reflecting that heaviness. Even as I got all dressed up with new wardrobe sent to me from Papusza Couture, I was unable to put a veil on my expressions.

Below you'll see some portraits wearing the beautiful clothes by Papusza Couture and an image still from a video that I shot with contemporary dancer Alexi Papadimitriou, as we document his stages of quarantine through movement. The final video will be released once we are out of quarantine, but just so you know, this IS NOT photoshoped. This was probably the most uplifting shoot of the week as the sun came out for a few hours before gray skies returned.

As spring continues to blossom and soon transition into summer I am wishing you so much safety and good health. If you are interested in purchasing any of these images you can find them available in my Shop for $35 each at 4x6”, open edition and signed. All prints will go out for shipping once lock down has been lifted in NYC. Don't be shy to reach out if you have any questions or just want to say hi!
