It is with the upmost pleasure that I am able to share that on March 7th ÆSTHESIA will be showcasing at the Museum of Moving Image in partnership with Music: Not Impossible and their newly launched Creators Network. Part of a small and select group of international artists and engineers we will be designing the future of sound through M:NI’s advanced Vibrotextile full body haptic suits and creating an experience of nature you never could have imagined.
Daniel Belquer, the creative genius behind the M:NI technology, is the reason to thank for this new incredible opportunity. His vision for the uses of tech have started from the original design of M:NI so that the deaf can experience live musical experiences through these suits. He and his team then took the haptic suits into Mt. Sinai hospital and held trial studies to help Parkinson patient’s with their motor-skill abilities through vibrations in their wrists.
Now the Creators Network is making the software accessible to a range of creative minds coming from all different backgrounds to see how else this work can potentially be used for and showcasing it for a one night experience at the incredible venue of the Museum of the Moving Image. The whole team is honored that ÆSTHESIA has been selected among an incredible range of projects to design the possibilities for what the future of sound can be.
M:NI x ÆSTHESIA at Wallplay On Canal, 2018
Over the next few weeks ALURIA (Juan Correa Lopez) will be transforming the ÆSTHESIA “Medicinal Flower Collection” soundtrack into a full body sensation experience. We will be documenting our process and sharing online @theAESTHESIAexperience as well as sharing some never before seen content in celebration of this opportunity.
Below are some images with the team at the M:NI workshop at MoMI. You’ll see us acting like goofballs as we tested out the new software and gear that we got to take home for the next few months as we design our own vibration experience with the sounds of nature. It’s hard to imagine that in just a few weeks nearly 200 seats will be filled in the MoMI theater, all wearing vibration suits, while watching / feeling / listening to ÆSTHESIA.
