Portraits of My Plants

These plants have really been some of my best friends during the 87 days of quarantine I spent in NYC. I’ve watched them grow, leaf by leaf. I’ve watched new flower buds form, bulge, bloom, die, and then another one start all over again. I’ve learned their quirks, the way their foliage opens and closes in response to the sun. The way some of them actually shake during the month of May. I know each and every one of their personalities and they have all come to mean so much to me (more than even before COVID). I think I will start doing this type of portrait with all my new plants and then that way I can take “portrait pictures” over time to track their growth!
